Artist's Description

This is the Commodore Barry statue behind (south of) Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pa. I have worked with this sculpture many times but I find it at it￿s best in the fall. He is a legend in the Revolutionary War. George Washington's statue is on the north side of Independence Hall. It tells you something about the importance of Barry's role in that pivotal time in America's history.

From Wikipedia:
John Barry (March 25, 1745 ￿ September 13, 1803) was an officer in the Continental Navy during the American Revolutionary War and later in the United States Navy. He is widely credited as "The Father of the American Navy" (and shares that moniker with John Paul Jones) and was appointed a Captain in the Continental Navy on December 7, 1775. He was the first Captain placed in command of a US warship commissioned for service under the Continental flag.

With my newest Fujifilm digital cameras, I am shooting for b&w and...
