Description
A day trip I took this past summer was to Asbury Park, NJ. Even though it is not far from where I live, I never went there until this year. My reason for going there is - as some of you may have already guessed - because it is where Bruce Springsteen's roots are and the title of his debut album, 'Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ'. It was a good day for me. The Stone Pony was open to sell merchandise so I got a hat and a t-shirt - and some photos.
This is the exterior of the carousel building, opened in 1932. They seemed to be restoring it when I was there and I hope that is true. Sadly, the merry-go-round is no longer in the building. The ride is referenced in Springsteen lyrics.

Excellent shot and love that title!!! l/f

Thank you. The title is Springsteen's main theme in so many tunes. At an induction ceremony for Eric Burden, Bruce said every song he has written was based on The Animals tune, 'We've got to get out of this place'. You get that when you are in Asbury Park - and many small towns.
