Here is another awesome sunset in the Mohave Desert, in the town of Fort Mohave, Arizona. The sunsets there are so varied, from the sublime to the inspiring.
This was taken with a Fuji X-T2 using the film emulation, Velvia. I used to shoot Fuji Velvia slide film a lot back the the 1980's, 90's and early 2000's. I switched to digital in the early 2000's, so I was very happy when Fuji started making their fantastic retro-like cameras and brought Velvia and Provia back, among others.
There is also a landscape orientation version on my site, taken at the same time, but using their standard film emulation, Provia.
I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away.
