Terrific shot of this iconic stage Glenn! One of my favourite shows on tv is Nashville. I'm not particularly a fan of country music, I like most music, but I do love that show. I've seen this stage in that series.

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thank you Linda. This was not easy to get as there are usually people standing there. I have only made one trip to Nashville, but I'd very much like to go again. I did watch the tv show but not since it was picked up by the CMT channel. I will listen to country if it's on, but it's not my usual music. I do appreciate the lifestyle though.

Artist's Description

As much as I liked doing the monochrome images inside the Ryman Auditorium, I did want people to see it in color as well. Here is the stage and the backdrop for the Grand Ole Opry that you saw in my Ryman Stage image. In that image, the guitars were difficult to see - unless you knew to look for them. People stand next to the guitars while the camera shoots from a low angle to get the Grand Ole Opry words above them in the frame. If you look back at my previous image you will notice a white post near the people on stage. It has RYMAN painted on it. Isn't a photo a fine souvenir?

After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away. With my newest Fujifilm digital cameras, I am shooting for b&w and...
