This is a farm in Medford, New Jersey at sunset, in the fall. This sunset has one of those white/gray Jersey skies.
I did a lot of "painting" on this image, working individual elements in Lightroom using a graphics tablet and stylus. I wanted to bring out the light and movement I was seeing when I standing there. I also added texture throughout the field.
This was not intended to be a sharp image so if you magnify it, texture is what you will see.

I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away. Thank you very much Laurie. This image was a turning point for me so I'm partial to it. I worked on it for a long time and learned a lot in the process. I'm still waiting for another sunset like this one.
