Nice rich colours under that bright blue sky. Seems we both photographed gas/petrol pumps. Old pumps like this make me think of the tv show American Pickers. Terrific shot Glenn!

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thanks Linda. Gas pumps are definitely a common target for photographers. They evoke nostalgia and memories of a simpler time, which I could very much use these days. I have watched American Pickers often. It is like that.

You have a good eye, Glenn, and notice things the rest of us don't...I love the SW, especially Az. and NM. What a neat old gas station and fantastic pov...I too love the high desert and always feel good at that altitude, or I did, had a heart attack this past Monday so don't know if I can go again. f/l

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thank you Karen. I react to things around me and I see so many things around me. This town is great to visit. I got to meet some citizens last time and that was interesting to be sure. Sorry to hear about your health issues. If you love it as you do, you'll likely find a way back. I'll keep a good thought for you.

About Glenn DiPaola

I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away. With my newest Fujifilm digital cameras, I am shooting for b&w and...
