Description
This is a wonderful stairway in the Hassayampa Inn in Prescott, Arizona. The hotel was built in 1927 and is located across from the County Courthouse and Whiskey Row. Some of history's most note-worthy celebrities used to stay here, including Will Rogers, Greta Garbo, Clark Gable and Steve McQueen. I appreciated this place very much, very authentic and that is getting hard to find.

Very interesting view and nice!! v/f/t
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thank you Robert. I only used the elevator once, just because it was equally vintage.

This is such an awesome composition, Glenn!! Fantastic lines, shapes, light, and shadows!!! Very cool!! :)))vf
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks very much Laurie. It's getting so rare to find these great places. I had to capture it the same way I walked it - hanging over the rail at every turn, looking down.
Connie Handscomb
Makes me think of noir & Hitchcock movies, Glenn ... easy now, don't 'accidentally' fall over the balustrade:))
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks. I more worried about dropping my camera than falling over, but maybe I have that backwards? I'd go with the movie Vertigo for this one.
Karen Slagle
Wow, Glenn...what an awesome and stomach churning capture, I can feel myself falling...love it. fl
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks very much Karen. I do like looking down - and up - at stairways like this. Wonderful craftsmanship.
Lucinda Walter
Wow I really love the composition here. l/f
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thank you. I just got this one finished today. I started on it last weekend. A lot of local adjustments had to be made to get the carpet light and shadow where it is. It is a challenge to frame stairways like this since the camera is out as far as my arms can go.
Robert Bales
Very nicely done! It took me a minute to realize what I was looking at!! v/f/t
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thank you Robert. There is a lot going on in this frame, could take a minute.
