I believe you may be right Glenn, I see the face on the closest tree! Beautiful atmospheric capture. L/F

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thanks much Linda. It was not possible for me to be in the UK and not see Ents and the like. They have a lot of wonderful parks in London. I wish cities in the US had that kind of vision.

Wonderful serene composition. So lone and isolated. L/F

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thank you Sunil. That's exactly how it felt to me and I am pretty certain to this woman as well. A great park right across the way from Buckingham Palace. They could not be more different experiences.

Excellent! ... ; I love this park... you are right, Britain is a little more careful with their trees now ...{they've lost too many in the past}; I wish we were more so too but our country is a baby in comparison & I guess we're still learning the 'hard way' {the city I live in is very bad for tree-cutting, sorry to say} ;love the tones in your image .& very atmospheric :)))

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thank you Connie. It was a nice park. I was very impressed with their parks - so many of them, from huge to intimate. We did do a thorough job here of clear-cutting the land in the 1800's. We continue to do damage but at least we are stating to plant trees.

Artist's Description

This is Green Park which sits across the street from Buckingham Palace. It's a decent size park with many large trees like these. The UK is fortunate to have many beautiful old trees. This fact was a not lost on one JRR Tolkien who loved them so much he brought them to life so that the rest of us could truly understand them. This woman is talking to an Ent. I heard them.

About Glenn DiPaola

Glenn DiPaola

I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away. With my newest Fujifilm digital cameras, I am shooting for b&w and...
