Beautiful floral image Glenn, the orange tones of this lovely sunflower look so good against the complementary color of the sky. I see the flower has a little visitor ☺

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thank you very much Linda. The tones in this one are not common, at least not that day. Skies don't get much bluer in this area. Yes, bees, bees and more bees. Only got stung once. Worth it.

Glenn, Another fantastic image with beautiful colors and contrasts. The detail is incredible and I see you even managed to capture a bumble bee...nature at its best. You can't help but smile when you look at this cheerful image. Nicely done. v/f

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thanks very much Deb. I am often surprised and pleased when I see the detail my Fuji X-T2 gets. I too have to smile at sunflowers. They look so happy to be who they are.

Artist's Description

There is a long patch of sunflowers a short distance from my house. There is a sign that says you can cut 3 flowers for $1 and there is a locked box to put the money in. I like that the honor system can still be found. I didn’t take any flowers but I left a dollar for the photos I took. A bargain.

About Glenn DiPaola

Glenn DiPaola

I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away. With my newest Fujifilm digital cameras, I am shooting for b&w and...
