Sunflowers are just so cheerful, and the way you've captured this one, with the beautiful blue sky and fluffy cloud is perfect! Lovely shot Glenn. And why would you want to pick the sunflowers when you can admire them whenever you drive down the road. L/F

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thank you once again Linda. At some point I realized there was this thing going on with the flowers and the little clouds, almost as it they turned from the sun to say Hi to the clouds. My wife did pick some. That's how I found out about this place.

Ahhh, this is so fresh and beautiful, Glenn!!! I love the composition, with that beautiful little cloud in the middle right above that gorgeous flower and the other stems, leaves, and buds!! So cheerful and wonderful!!!! :)))vf

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thank you Laurie. When you are there it seems like every flower has a personality, but there are so many of them and so little time to capture them. Can't look at them and not have their happy nature rub off on you.

Glenn, What a beautiful image with a fantastic perspective and perfect title. The details, contrasts, light and colors are truly incredible....the cloud really adds to this happy image. Nicely done. v/f

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thank you very much Deb. This image does show what my Fuji camera can do. The clouds were fun to play with that day. Easy to do since these flowers are so tall.

Artist's Description

There is a long patch of sunflowers a short distance from my house. There is a sign that says you can cut 3 flowers for $1 and there is a locked box to put the money in. I like that the honor system can still be found. I didn’t take any flowers but I left a dollar for the photos I took. A bargain.

This image can be printed as large as 40 x 60 upon request.

About Glenn DiPaola

Glenn DiPaola

I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away. With my newest Fujifilm digital cameras, I am shooting for b&w and...
