Artist's Description
You can see some different things in the swamp. This is a small group of floating buildings that people fish from and maybe have a few beers while they fish. There is a lot of variety in what they build on the banks of the river.
About Glenn DiPaola
I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. Great shot of these holiday shacks Glenn. Are they floating or built on the bank? If they're on the bank they'd be in trouble if the river rises. I'd like to see a color version of this one.
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks much Linda. They are floating, tied to the river bank. If you think they would be in trouble you should see how little some houses are above the river. No question rivers rise and it's a problem for some. Worth it to them. It's another world in the swamp to say the least. The color version is comprised of two dominate colors - green and a brownish yellow in the river. The two buildings are a medium blue.
