Glenn, This is such a beautiful image and the black and white really accentuates the details. Fantastic description...thanks for sharing. Nicely done. v/f

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thanks very much Deb. I had a series of images close in like this, but it's the light that makes them all different. This light is what I was seeing but the wind would change it constantly. I did get what I wanted in this one.

It's funny....with the exception of a very few places, I don't like to photograph the same place more than once, sometimes twice....unless it's so big that you can always see actual new spots there. Hmmm....you've given me something to think about. Maybe that means I'm not growing.....? Now, I do like photographing the same things, such as trees, clouds, etc.....maybe that counts for something, lol. Anyway, this is a really beautiful image, Glenn!! I love the light, and the black and white is beautiful!! Wonderful composition, too!!! :)))vf

Glenn DiPaola replied:

As always Laurie, I thank you sincerely. Before I read that quote I felt the same way. After that I kept trying to get there. Took me 15-20 years before I started to see my surroundings differently. That said, your returning to the same subjects and finding new interpretations is much the same thing. Doesn't have to be a place. Could be a tree, a garden, sunsets... It does count. Here, switching to bw high contrast and going minimal was from new eyes - and a new camera that can do it. Glad you like it. Let me just say that I am always left wondering how you tie scenes and textures to emotions so perfectly. That may be what I should work on. : )

Black and white suits the graphic quality of this lovely image Glenn. I think that we all have some things that we like to photograph and are always coming up with new ways to present them.
