Very striking natural abstract Glenn!! v/f/t

Glenn DiPaola replied:

Thanks very much Robert. You caught this one while it's fresh. My recent journey into the macro world is creating a lot of different images for me. I always liked abstract, but this is a different type of abstract for me. It has been fun venturing into these little worlds.

Artist's Description

This is one of a series of abstract images I created in Whitesbog, New Jersey on a winter’s day. This image shows aged wood in a wonderful way. Long boards can have many patterns. Always a challenge to pick only some of them when they are all special. This version is printed in the 16:9 format.

Whitesbog is an history village in the Pine Barrens, which encompasses a million acres of South Jersey. The primary product Whitesbog produces on its 3,000 acres is cranberries. Among a number of features, it also has blueberry fields and the historic buildings that I am showing here.

These images, and others like it, are included in my Large Graphics Collection, a series of themed images offering dynamic impact in large spaces. I use different formats with these images depending on the content. Typically they are one or more of these: 1:1, 2:3, 16:9. If there is a format that you don’t see, but are interested in, please contact me. The same can be true for black and white...

College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away. With my newest Fujifilm digital cameras, I am shooting for b&w and...
