I have been working on something different, but it came to me and I had to find a way continue that journey. My wife found a pair of butterfly wings in our yard - only the wings. Since I have started down the path of the macro world, I wanted to see what they were all about.
Many photos and hours of work in Lightroom and Photoshop later, I have the first of a number of pieces I am bringing along. If nothing else, it is a reminder that nature produces the best art.
These images, and others like it, are included in my Large Graphics Collection, a series of themed images offering dynamic impact in larger spaces.
I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014.
