Description
I did not have the blues standing here on the Rim of the World Highway, overlooking San Bernardino, California. Until you get toward the bottom you would be challenged to find 50 feet (15 m) of straight road.
Two days earlier I drove up on it in the worst fog I’ve ever been in, best described as zero visibility. I could see the center line less than 10 feet (3 m) in front of the car. But this day was just beautiful.

This surely is an impressive image of natural splendor, Glenn! Maybe after all that fog in which you found yourself, the song "I Can See Clearly Now" would make excellent background music for this wonderful capture! :) l/f
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thank you Kellice. That song could work very nicely here. It's a wonderful drive down from the mountains.

I had to revisit and comment again on this wonderful image. You just can't go past a touch of fog to add drama to a photograph. I love this one Glenn!
Glenn DiPaola replied:
In that case, thanks again Linda. I've not seen a road like this one. A funny thing about that. I was on google street view looking at the road and at one point, it looked like this. I thought, can I be that lucky to see this the one day I am there? Well, yes I can be that lucky. Another funny thing is that I shot a fair amount of images in CA on this trip but this is the only one I posted here. I have others I like but never posted them - yet. That made me review them again this past weekend. Perhaps more will follow. Glad it means something special to you.

Oooooo...I love this one Glenn! What a fantastic capture of light and atmosphere.
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks Betty. Yes, it was what I hoped for and more. A great drive that morning.

Glenn, This is such a gorgeous scene with wonderful shades of blue...Exquisite!! Simply breathtaking....nicely done. v/f
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thank you Deb. I don't know that I've ever seen this many shades of blue. I saw an image of this road on google street view before I went here and wondered if I would be lucky enough to see such a thing. Well, yes I was!!

Such a stunning scene that you've captured Glenn! Be careful driving up mountain roads in poor conditions, a photo, no matter how stunning, is not worth putting yourself in danger for. L/F
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks very much Linda. I was as careful as conditions allowed. We were headed to a friend's house and ran into the fog as we go into the higher altitudes. At least we got this on the way out to make up for it.
