Description
This is a new plant in the garden this year. It's been fun to work with. This black and white version shows the flower in a second phase. The first phase is a green bud. There is a color version posted as well. It lives up to its name.

You're right Glenn, it does work well in black and white as well as colour. Your inclusion of some foliage in this shot gives it a different feel, it's got a sense of movement. L/F

Thank you very much Linda. It was an interesting plant to work with. It has so many layers and textures. I do like how the background objects pretty much compete with the flower itself - at least in BW. In color the flower is impressive and takes the spotlight. I like this framing in BW better. And yes, I agree that there is a sense of movement in the leaves. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply but my summer has been busy - in a good way.
