This was taken at sunset in Old Town Scottsdale, Arizona. This is the Art Walk that will take you past, and to, galleries and museums. If you are in Old Town, take a look around this part of it.
I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. This decorative sidewalk has intrigued my eye for some time, Glenn, & its time to say so! Love the intricate pattern, the shadows that tickle the design, the textures in the lovely golden light. I wish more pathways were this wonderfully creative:))
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks very much Connie. Right place at the right time for me that day. I found it a bit strange to think that an artist produced this wonderful work specifically to have people walk on it. Not a typical creative goal. I too wish there were more walks like this.
Linda Lees
I love the golden light and shadows cast across this wonderfully decorative path! It sounds like it's a great path to follow, what a terrific idea to have a designated path that leads to galleries and museums.
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks Linda. It was a great path - it is the Art Walk so bound to be some interesting things to see. I wasn't expecting the path itself to be this interesting.

Wow, the light is incredible, and so are the shadows!! And I love the beautiful design in the concrete!!! Fabulous image, Glenn!!! :)))vf
Glenn DiPaola replied:
How did I forget to reply to your wonderful words? Thanks very much Laurie. There was a lot going on in a pretty small space. Worked for me.
Lucinda Walter
Stunning shot. Will have to head over to 500 to see the details.... l/f
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thank you. Shame they don't option the metadata in here. This hasn't been posted on 500 but it likely will at some point. The light was fading fast by the time I got this image. I kept shooting until the sun was gone.
Kume Bryant
Fantastic capture, Glenn! l f
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks Kume. Timing can be (almost) eveything. Wonderful contrast in the tones at that moment.
Sunil Kapadia
Wonderful study of the light, design and texture. L/F
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thank you Sunil. The sun was setting and I was running around trying to get what I could. This was my favorite of those efforts.
