Description
As part of the Ryman Auditorium tour, you can see the Air Castle Studio. The name comes from Nashville's early days of music recording. While artists could be heard around the country on the Opry radio show from AM radio station, WSM, there were no recording studios there. In 1946, WSM opened Nashville's first recording studio, Castle Records. It changed everything. You can now go into the Air Castle Studio sound booth and record your own track. Go to the Ryman website or search the web for air castle studio for more details.

Hi Glenn, thanks for sharing the history associated with this place that is so significant in popular music. Although I don't think that anyone wants to hear a recording of me singing, so I think I'll pass on that. A few of years back there were a couple of tv series about the music industry, Nashville, featuring the Ryman and another on Sun Records, I enjoyed them both.
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Hi Linda. You're welcome. I like having some background info with certain places. Sun Records is another big deal from the past. I won't be cutting any recordings here either.
