Artist's Description

This is a library room not far from both legislative chambers in the Tennessee State House in Nashville. The spiral stairway leads to the upper rows of books. There are quite a few books, and they are old. You can also see this chandelier matches the one in my previous post. They are all the same style.

Some facts from wikipedia: The building took 14 years to build and was completed in 1859. It was designed by renowned Philadelphia architect William Strickland. He died five years before the building's completion and was entombed in its northeast wall. His son, F. W. Strickland, supervised completion of the structure.

I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away.
