Artist's Description

We weren't expecting to visit the Tennessee State House in Nashville, but we happened to walk up to it and figured, why not? From the outside it is a nice building, but not as grand as other State Houses are. The inside however turned out to be quite different. My wife and I went in different directions once inside, which is typical. At some point my phone rings and it is her calling me from outside the building. She is telling me I've been in there more than an hour and asks when am I coming out? Oops. There is no time when you are in the zone. This is one of the many chandeliers with the same exact style. It also shows some nicely detailed ceilings, worthy of my time.

I attended the University of Rhode Island where I studied photography under Bart Parker. I graduated with a BFA in fine art photography and a minor in communications. College was always b&w work, hand-processed in the dark room, using many different cameras. It was great fun. After college I worked in the photo-finishing business for many years as well as doing commercial photography. In the 80's I started to shoot only color for my artwork and never returned to the world of black & white - until 2014. I started converting my color digital images to black and white whenever I saw them as intended for bw. I believe the eye you started with does not go away.
