Description
This highly decorated instrument on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville, TN, belonged to Pee Wee King, born Julius Frank Anthony Kuczynski. Between 1948 and 1954, King scored ten Top 15 hits on the country charts and was one of the first country musicians to cross over successfully into the pop field. It was Gene Autry that gave him the nickname "Pee Wee", because at five foot seven, he was the smallest member of the band.

I love the variety of textures and tones and the various angles of the components of this interesting instrument, nice work Glenn! By the way, it looks terrific on the cushion! L/F
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thank you Linda. I have childhood memories of accordions so I had to capture this. My brother played one for about 7 years. Every Sunday I would listen to him play for my dad. His accordion was red. I gave my brother a framed photo of this for Christmas the following year.

This is so cool, Glenn! Your composition has cleverly chosen different & unique parts of the instrument, & the patterns & textures make for a great image. Looking at it this way is a wonderful insight into not only the components, but also the complexity of the accordion ... {it also looks heavy!} :))
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks much Connie. As I said to Laurie below, I have a history with accordions. To find one with this level of details was fantastic. True. They are not an easy instrument to play, including physically. I prefer guitars.

What a fantastic composition this is, Glenn!! Makes for a very cool image!!! :)))vf
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thank you Laurie. I have 4 images hung on the wall in my "music room" (highly debatable if it's music) and this is one of four abstracted instruments taken in the Country HoF museum. I have a soft spot for accordions as my brother played one for many years and every Sunday morning I had to listen to him and my dad going through songs over and over that I still can't get out of my head. Now of course, it's a great memory and I'm happy to have this bring it back for me. I also had an uncle nicknamed Pee Wee, so there's that too.

beautiful photography; enjoyed reading the description; this instrument always appeared to be so complex

Thanks. My brother played accordion for years when I was very young. I had to shoot this one. The details were amazing. I even have an uncle named Pee Wee. Meant to be.
