Description
This is something that we would see as we came and went from our hotel. The Frist Center is right next to the Union Station Hotel and this sculpture was at the front, right next to the sidewalk. When we left in the morning we saw it in daylight, big and bright, but when we headed back to our room at night this is what we saw. Read below for information on the sculpture great that the sculptors last name is Ryman. No relation to the Ryman Auditorium as far as I can tell.
On view at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts' Broadway Street entrance through the end of 2013, Rose on 65th Street (2011) is from a series of thirty-eight sculptures of gigantic roses created by New York artist Will Ryman. Arrayed along New York Citys Park Avenue from January 25 through May 31, 2011, the colossal flowers, each painted in a primary color or bright pink, stood in startling contrast to the towering buildings and busy traffic of the street.

Very unusual and dynamic point of view, Glenn! L/F
Glenn DiPaola replied:
Thanks Kellice. It is quite a sculpture. Very tall and it was up on a terrace above the sidewalk. It gave us an ant's-eye view.
